2007 LC truck is running perfectly fine otherwise but vsc light is on along with the CEL which comes up as a P0016. Just had the timing belt done so I'm assuming something happened there but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this? Worried about letting my mom continue driving it....

That error is related to the crankshaft position sensor, could be the connector is not fully seated/not plugged in at all or wire was cut.

Thanks fellas, I figured they botched something when doing the timing belt. So either timing off or an issue with the sensor.

It's otherwise running really smooth, unfortunately I can't get it back into the shop until the 26th do you guys think there is any issue with my mom still driving it?

There is also a metal ring on the crank gear that the sensor reads position from. Perhaps this was not installed correctly during the job?

Agree with above about not driving it, to be safe.

Gentlemen thank you for all the help, the hack shop my father wanted to take the truck to for the work installed the belt the other way around. I took it to my guys and he fixed it along with other things they screwed up, need to go update another thread as well...

Thank you again

Edit: Just for the next guy, no other codes were present truck was driving fine but had horrible gas mileage. All was fixed immediately after correcting the belt
