Overhead console ambient lighting...

I swapped a similar console into a 2001 LC, mostly for the multiple homelink buttons - I jumped power from somewhere in the sunroof. I couldn't get the ambient LED lighting to ever turn on, if either of you have a clue to the wiring involved please let me know. The lighting was way less important to me, but would be nice to have nonetheless.

There's nothing up there that switches with the headlights in the LC so makes sense it's not loomed into the existing harness.

If you had a LX and just wanted to add another ambient light, could you splice into the existing line?

What about the homelink backlights? I noticed those only turn on with the headlights. They're possibly on the dimmer as well. I was hoping there was a clear way to tap into that line but I couldn't find a wiring diagram.

What didn’t work for you? I’m assuming the same thing as me.

I tried to install an LX console as well. I’m almost certain the main plug the LC has from the headliner doesn’t carry the same power as the LX one. I bet if we could compare the two plugs, we’d see more pins in the LX one. I, too, was hoping the LX part would be plug n play but it doesn’t seem like it is. I just went with splicing the map lights like everyone else.

Now, any leads on footwell lights in your quest for Lexifying?

My question is about the footwell lighting. Since the 2002 does not have the Multiplex relay body controller (it came out in 2003), has anyone installed the footwell lights in an LC or a pre-2003 LX? I bought the footwell lights from Lexus, and the female connectors from Corsa Techna, and they look like this -

I believe the door handle lighting use the same connector as the FOOTWELL lights which I am asking about in this post. THis is the female connector listed on CORSA TECHNIC:

Lamp assembly female connector P/N: 90980-11918 (1 per light)
Repair wire P/N: 82998-12690 (2 per connector)

Pin P/N: 7116-4231-02 Mfr: OEM Yazaki
Series: 040 III Unsealed Series
For 0.3-0.5 mm2 (22-20 AWG) wir

What I need to know is: how do I connect these INTO the 2002 wiring circuit for the interior lighting? There is NO ambient lights in the <2002, so what is the best plan? I have the 2002 WIRE DIAGRAM i bought with the truck, so i know what's what. What I do not have is a 2003+ wire diagram that would tell me what additional wires are in the wire bundle to splice into.
This is what the FOOTWELL lights look like -

LASTLY, where or what are those labels that say ."REFER TO FIG 55-51 PNC55392A & PNC55393? I can't find them ANYWHERE in the TSM or LEXUS Service manual !!?? What is this?????

I'd love to find this out. You've gotten farther than I did with what connector it is. I think I tested the DC current on the connector in my LC and I don't think it got anything. But I don't know what puts the footwell lights on, is it night time and/or lights on and/or door open?
And thanks for the heads up about that thread. I just posted in that about the LED holder!
