ooh, good project! a few more water crossings and new carpet will be in our future too. i suppose "up and running" takes priority right now, though. damn exhaust leaks!

so since it will no longer sound like you're taxiing down a runway, does this mean you will have to have meaningful conversation with your passengers?? ;)

Hardest part about putting in the Spector seat foam was tracking down a set of hog ring pliers (which are needed). I forget where I found them (Harbor Freight, I think).

It's time consuming work, but you can unbolt the seat and take your time. I don't think you'd tear anything.

At least a few folks in prior threads have mentioned that you could also get decent replacement foam (perhaps for cheaper) at any good auto upholstery shop in your area. Probably worth inquiring around...

Re: the carpet you used: Do they keep the templates on file at that place you used? Do we just need to tell them the model of car we have and they do the rest? Or do they ask for measurements? I would love to do this mod...

How about just replacing them altogether with the IronPig seats?

the link to Spector Off Road is sor.com

it was not difficult at all.

remove seat, remove cover, remove cushion, replace each in reverse order. it won't hurt the covers at all, it will actually make them last longer. an uphostery shop wouldn't charge much for such an easy job.

Thanks! I ordered the seat foam pads $$$$(wow) and have the dynamat on the way. I'll upload some photos when I get started! I cant wait to ride in comfort!

JDHall, I think that Damplifier is better quality at half the price, when compared to Dynamat.

Ballard Cruiser, yes, they have the templates on file to cut your carpet. you do not need to give them measurements.
