Hello guys,
Has anyone removed their orange headlight reflectors and replaced them with a white or clear one? I always see 100 series with clear headlights, are they just using aftermarket headlights or have any of you guys just replaced the orange reflectors with clear? Just wondering because the prices on some of these headlights are just crazy and I’d rather just find a way to take it off than get new headlights.

Yes, IIRC they were on later MYs. Many replace them with clear.

that is not part of the headlight assembly

I thought DOT regs state rigs in the US need to have side facing amber colored reflectors on the front and red reflectors on the rear

Yep.
DOT Federal law.
100% illegal.
Amber reflector front, Red rear. (NOT JUST BULBS)
You need both unless the whole housing is amber/red, if it is a clear bulb is fine.

Having had 2 friends have their cars puled over and the cop being a dick about it and saying the car is "unsafe" for road use and making them tow the car (home or a lot) makes me not wanna fk with any of that.

But yes OP, those are all aftermarket or OEM from non US cars.
