+1 make it yours. You can go look at the pics on SOR or the land cruiser museum site. Same paint, same color.
When mine was done it took 3 gallons of flat tan paint to do 7 coats on the outside and 5 on the inside. Flat paint was shot as is and can't be thinned.

That was back in 83/84. Lots of that paint is still there. Never been in a garage - just out in the weather.

They should be body color but when you order new ones they come in black paint ready to color match.

Not paint, e-coat. Pretty easy to prep and shoot but the stuff will rust right out if it's left exposed.

Should the running boards be body color or not?
Should they be as glossy as the body or a satin/matte finish?
All opinions welcome and will be thoughtfully considered.
Painted my truck red and sprayed the running boards with black bed liner. So far I've liked my decision, looks great and doesn't wear off underfoot.

My cousin painted his running boards the same colour-matched green raptor line he painted the inside of the tub with. From 5' you can't tell they aren't factory, but they hold up brilliantly. That's my plan one day. Mine are body colour gloss paint now. Not a fan of black myself unless they are actual skids.

I don’t know about factory correct sheen, but for longevity, I would absolutely use some kind of liner on at least the bottom. Mine were sandblasted naturally underneath.

My preference on top appearance would differ based on the truck, but I’m pretty firmly in the “do what you want” camp.
