open air filter

I am looking for an open air filter set up for my 22R (aisan carb). ive tried a whole lot of searches with no results. i know for a holley/chevy 350 they are a dime-a-dozen but for my 22R i cant find a thing. i have the stock setup now and i need more air in. what do you guys run? any ideas where i can find somthing?

have you searched companies that sell air filters for V-8's?

like B&M, Mr. Gasket, Edelbrock?

you would keep the base, keep the filter, but use a pizza pan like lid that screws on through a stud mated or threaded to the carb.

i was hoping that i could get a new base but i dont think anyone makes one. its looking like i could just buy a k&n (or just use my stock filter) and find a top like you are saying.

i just figured someone would make a kit for this application like they do for most other cars/trucks.

i have never seen a aftermkt base, but that doesnt mean its not out there.

if some one knows more, they'll chime in

dios mio! thats awesome, it doesnt leak between the filters? i could just use a tall k&n inplace. thanks guys im hooked on the idea of the ghetto fab and not the $$ fab.

i see your in dallas, im in san marcos, and i love junk. theres a place down here called Wimberely 4 wheel drive that is only toyota. you heard of them? im looking for a front bumper for my 1st gen.
