In their vague sort of way Mazda has been hinting that they've cracked the compression ignition puzzle allowing for much higher compression in a gas engine. The higher the engine compression the higher the thermodynamic efficiency, so more torque and more MPG. These engines have been on test stands and dynos for several years now but always with flaws.
Cool if they really managed it .... we've been trying for a long time.

Today's recovery operation:
Big'ol delivery truck dragged his rear step/bumper on the way up my too steep driveway.
On the way out, they dragged again. Then tried to get fancy.
They ended up nearly perpendicular to the drive, perched on the bumper, with one set of rear wheels completely off the ground.
Hi-lift took some pressure off the bumper where it has cut into the pavement, and a KER between them and Joleane and viola!
Should have grabbed a picture of the truck. Didn't think of it till after.
