Anyone have any experience with an on-board welder, or any recommendation. Phil and I are researching this, and would appreciate any info or advice. Thanks in advance.

Easiest is Ready Welder- its a self contained spool gun. Just need dual batteries.

Cheapest is any externally regulated alternator that produces enough amps. (90 should be enough). All you have to do is mount it, and run a jumper from the field terminal to the battery, and then use jumper cables to for ground clamp and stinger. Stick weld only.

This writeup is an improvement on the above option.

I'm installing a Premier Power Welder on my 55, but haven't got around to the wrenching part of the build yet, so it's on the shelf waiting to be installed. Let me know, I can bring it & the spec sheet to the meeting.
