OME springs: Which end is forward?

Completed a strip down of my front axle and am re-installing the springs and installing 4 deg shims to correct for longer HFS shackles. Got all that straight, except I forget which end of the springs are supposed to be closest to the shackle. One end's outer spring is squared off, the other end's outer leaf ends in a much narrower point. The spring packs don't appear to be symmetrical back-to-front.

Can anyone help me with which end is the shackle end on Old Man Emu spings for the front end of a 74FJ40.

the answer is the narrower end of the leaf spring goes forward (shackle end)

I was going to add, the end that doesn't extend your wheelbase.

Unless you want that...
