can I come install my lift in that shop

really looks good man

adamfj60 = Heavy FR and RR. Right?

jefffj60 = Medium FR and Heavy RR. Right?

Is it the Medium springs up FR that are causing such rake?

I installed Medium FR and RR, but have the extra leafs to go Heavy on both. If I were to install the FR leafs and go Heavy, should I expect the FR to raise some? It should not. Right?

My understanding is that Medium and Heavy springs support the weight of the vehicle the same. No difference in lift. When adding weight (bumpers, winch etc.) the Medium would simply start to squat before a Heavy would. Heavy being able to carry the extra weight.

Am I wrong?

Mine is medium front and heavy rear. Shackles would make a difference did you replace yours and if so with what?

Sorry for the mixup...I knew one had Med FR. BTW, your truck looks amazing.

Yeh, I got the full OME kit, grease shackles, pins, bushings. I considered moving the RR shackles to the FR, but they are only what, 1/2" or so longer. So this in theory would raise it 1/4".
Mine have settled some, but the rake is still present. I just don't understand how level yours is right after install and jefffj60 and mine have such a rake. I've gone over the numbers time and time again, telling myself I did something wrong or backwards, but I didn't.

Did you measure your trucks height before and after? How much did it go up on each end? I don't understand either?

I failed to measure mine before. And I fear I'm overreacting. I just ate some supper and feeling relaxed now. My apologies for hi-jacking your thread.

Here's a pic when finished and a drive around the block. Driveway has slight incline where sitting. Not as bad as I thought when I finished mine, however some do appear to have significant more lift in the front, for example jefffj60.
Maybe my point of view was bit skewed from rolling all over the driveway on hands and knees installing mine.

I'm finished griping. Thanks for listening.

Your truck is gonna look SICK with 33's. The ratio is so right, they almost look stock this way. Those are new 33x10.50's.

rake-o-rama... I've got a few hundred lbs of stuff in the back right now trying to ease out of the Munster-mobile look... Did everything by the book as well...

Interestingly, the degree of sagy-ocity I had in back pre-OME was extreme... Can't imagine there was any damage outside of the dead springs. Replaced everything also.

GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GET A BUMPER!!!!!

super clean looking rig. what % of tint are you running on your windows?

cliNt

I think 30% but it was done before I got it other than the rear window...I did 30 on that and it matches pretty close I think.

Goode - really nice looking rig. my install experience was not the same as on the driveway - you earned yours.

question for you - how did it drive after putting on the 33's? i've heard better gas mileage but maybe less power? did you regear?

nice rig

nice looking rig you got there.is that a honda dealer that you work at?or is it toyota but looks like a honda uniform.just curious. john

You can feel some loss in acceleration, but not really all that much.
Once up to speed, they feel nice turning lower rpms.
I have not regeared. I'm sure 4.11s feel better, but I haven't experienced them personally. Some say go ahead go with 4:56 or 4:88 if your gonna go 4:11...

Great thread, Adam. Nice going! And that is one well-kept 60 you have there. I'm jealous of you having that great shop to work in. :crybaby: I do have a heated garage, but not that sweet hydraulic lift.

very nice! she looks awesome!!

after we put the medium OMEs on the Toad, she didn't sit flat, either. we ended up putting longer shackles on the front (+2" I think) and it looks perfect. it changed the caster, which affected steering and trailering BIG TIME-- fixed that with 4 degree shims. LOVE the way it looks with the 33x10.5s and the lift. we also re-geared to 4:11s to regain the low-end torque we lost with the bigger tires. then the rear locker...oh wait, you didn't ask about that. :D

a mudder's work is never done.

yes it is a honda dealer...love honda cars but they don't have a 60 series...

Are these the OME greaesable spring pins? I ruined most of mine today trying to get them out.

high rear correction

I went heavy/heavy because I planned to add dual bat's, front bumper and winch along with rear bumper with swing-away's. The way I corrected my hot rod look was to remove one of the two Add-a-leafs installed in each rear heavy spring. What I ended up with essentially is a heavy front/medium rear, and a pretty level rig.

Now that I've added all those previously mentioned accessories my girlfriend claims she might not need to wear a sports bra to ride in my truck anymore, because even with the AAL removal the rear was over sprung!

If you're bum is riding really high, I would suggest taking that one add-a-leaf out of the medium rear spring pack. Its the longest one, just below the main spring, with the tapered (not blunt) ends. Stash it in the garage until the springs break in a bit. Just make sure they don't get inadvertently tossed like mine did

yes those are OME greasable fixed pins
