How much torque your guessing to make?

OM606 are tough as nails but HEAVY.

Fab parts included capping off the EGT port on the oem turbo manifold. I tug welded it with a nickel alloy rod as the manifold is NiCr. The water pump housing had a tube coming out of the back that almost did a 180 degree turn. I welded a bung onto that to remove the need for a o-ring fitted tube as it was leaking.View attachment 4139673View attachment 4139676

I just took off my coolant bypass mod and found that I run a bit cooler and when I am off the throttle, it cools down way faster than when I had the mod. I think it would be a great mod if it was run to the radiator. The way it runs to the water pump inlet, it just recycles hot water. So it doesn't get cooled...
Just my .02. I kept track of my data and was letting Om6performance.com know my findings as we were curious which way it would go.

Stellar custom work. Looks awesome.

Found some time to put together the adapter assembly. Bolted up to the engine really well:

Bolted the torque converter to the adapter:

After about an hour of muscling the transmission into place (wow the A440f weighs a ton) I got it put together. All of the pins aligned as they should. It wasn’t too much of a pain other than how much the transmission weighs.

One hiccup is the fasteners for the starter. I really didn’t want to take the transmission off if that ever goes bad. I put M10x1.5 threads in the adapter plate for those holes. Then I put the started on the mill and drilled 11mm thru holes where the threads were on the starter mounting flange. Well wouldn’t you know it the flange head bolts don’t fit past the starter body. Instead of using the bolts I ordered studs to go into the adapter plate and then I’ll have nuts to mount the starter.

Very nice!

Ill be using SendCutSend for my firetruck conversion in the not so distant future!
Superfastmatt seems to have really good luck with them & im impresed with their work.

Im asuming you're doing some fueling upgrades to make more power?
Dpuk has come a long way with his 606 offerings. Prior to him it was limited to Myna or Diselmeken. Unfortunately for bolt-on fueling enhancements your only option is a modified Bosch M-pump from an OM603 which has always been expensive and nobody in the States is setup to do M pumps. The UK or Europe are the places to go to.

Somewhat recently theres been some new, highly efficient air-to-water 3D printed intercoolers being developed. I wouldn't mind running one of those on my 1HZ when the time comes but they are probably very expensive.
Benzforce is in the US and they do Pumps with Dieselmeiken partnership.

I second Benzforce. I did buy a lot of stuff from Dpumpuk for my build. And not all of it is of decent quality. My injectors had to be sent to a local shop after Dpumpuk rebuilt them. The pop pressures were all over the board. From 125-165 bar. And the stainless steel exhaust manifold is about 1/8 in not flat. I will have a local shop mill it and sell it. I bought an exhaust manifold from Benzforce that I am running now.
