Old Rack

A friend of mine loaned me the rack that he's had in storage for a long time. It was previously on his 40. I would like to incorp. a floor into it and am wondering if anyone is familiar with this rack. Who made it? What type of floor did it likely have to begin with?

(BTW, it's on sideways because that's the way we had to bolt it down with only the 3 cross members)

It's an old con-fer.

It did not have a floor originally.

Just put a piece of plywood in it.

I suggest not loading it too heavily or reinforcing the crossmembers. Those stamped sheetmetal crossmembers are pretty puny.

didn't they sell a floor kit that went with the rack...sold seperatly...somebody here on mud had floors ...left over

No, what I meant was that you were talking about Mark Woytovich, not me.

They may have sold the floors as a separate item. Wouldn't be surprised.

I've got one of those old Con-Fer roof racks and mine came with what looks like marine-grade plywood. It seems pretty stout actually but I am not certain if it is stock.
