Tower of murder baby.
That thread in the mainland board, plus talk of wheeling with the blue 55 a decade ago, got me thinking we should do the island version of ye olde pictures...

So I'll start. cuz I'm bored.

one of those two brown 60's was crusty, the other was dan...
Jan 12 2003 according to the tag on the pic...so it was 10 years..( are those still the same damn tires on the dingo/wombat mobile??)

And because I haven't heard a peep out of the Crusties in years, here's trogdor, when it was still the douchenozzle in my backyard :flipoff2:

Older...back when my truck was a total piece of s*** and had big gay wayne shackles on it.

My oldest cruiser pic. ( not me in the pic, this was a pause in the hours of shovelling to get off the damn mountain. ) 1998 I think. I'd had it for a year or so already at that point . Mt Washington got a ridiculous amount of snow in 3 days,as in, skis dragging all the way up on the chair...might be the last time I went skiing.

A 60 I hacked the 3b and 5 speed out of for the 42...pic doesn't show how the whole thing swayed with gentle breezes....
A dude showed up to buy the carcass at 10am on a sunday, he was still kinda pie eyed from the night before. Sketchy trailer, sketchier truck, and somehow we managed to get the body onto the trailer with no damage, then he was off to bamfield with it. yeesh...helluva day.

and the parts manoevering apparatus...

Around the same time. Truck was still a piece of s***, but at least had better fenders on it. My first soa..couldn't afford proper tires.

this was on the shop floor, so that trucks days were numbered.

That's about all I have that are cruiser related. I need to spend some time with old albums and a scanner one day, but, think I'll save that chore for when I have the flu or a broken leg. ;p

Cool pics. Wish I'd been around for those days with a cruiser.

Here is 13 years ago or so for me. Not a cruiser, but still Toyota. My car is second from the left. Pic taken with some of my Toyota friends back then. We were into the rwd corollas before the honda/drift kids caught on. Mine was supercharged.

cool.

I had an 84 supra(I think it was an 84 anyways, same body style as the one on the far left.) before I got my first cruiser...thing was fun. Someone had put some lower gears in the rear end, speedo was about 20% off...

went like a raped ape for the first little bit, then topped out at around 100...so in a way, it was pretty safe from speeding tickets...

Sounds like it was a fun car. I've always liked those old Supras. Closest I got to owning a Supra was a Cressida of the same vintage. Basically a 4-door supra as it had the same suspension and drivetrain. Was a fun car too, especially when the LSD hooked up.

friend of mine in high school had one of the old cressida wagons...cept with a v8 in it...thing was nuts..looked like gramma's wagon, and was freakin' terrifying to be a passenger in...

almost as bad as Cam's dodge...

good thing it was high school and I was well medicated...:hillbilly:

This the oldest Landcruiser i ever saw in Victoria, it is a 1964-65 and it came from California, rust free and ended up on Saltspring island. It was for sale about 10 years ago and i havn't seen it since.

Right on! Hope its being looked after and not full of granola bar wrappers and magic mushrooms plants.

The 55 is..... um..... geeze I really dont know what to say.

That 55 has probably seen it's fair share of magic mushrooms and roach clips. That thing on the back is a solar powered grow-op and their motto is "Grow as you Go"

Every time i look at that pic i think of the old song "I can't drive 55" :steer:

Not the oldest picture... but its far back as my landcruiser history goes.

My landcruiser as it looked when I found it on the side of the road. Me and Graham called the guy while we were lying under the truck hitting the frame with hammers to see how it was.

I remember the guy pulling up and asking if we wanted to take it for a drive... to our surprise he had the key under a rock next to it!
