I have been meaning to give everyone this link, and work keeps getting in the way. This is a Toyota dealership out in CA, that online has all of the parts with diagrams for toyota parts on our LC. Still only back to 69, but the cool thing is they tell you what parts are still available. They ** out the first two numbers of the part number, but if you look to the left the entire 5 digit beginning is there. The only time it should be an issue is that you can't see the whole number if the part was superseded. Discount is same as Molle, so I used it to know what was available, then ordered there to support the local folks. You might save sales tax, but have to pay shipping. Anyway, enjoy.
I bought my first one while I was living in Colorado. A friend of my dads had bought it new from Merriam Toyota, and kept it at their condo in Snowmass. It had 27,000 miles on it and I used it as dd for several years. It still only has 47,000 miles. I started a restoration on it about 10 years ago and it still sits in pieces spread across two states.
When my 16 year old started driving she wanted to drive my LC so instead of getting it finished I bought another I found here on mud. PO said it was restored. After getting it back here it apparently only had a paint job which was probably pretty decent about 5 years ago. After having it here a month the motor siezed up and is currently at the machine shop. I'm taking this opportunity to do some additional work while I have great access to everything. The deeper I go, the more problems I find. I may have bit off more than I can chew once again. I've already proven I can take a one year project and turn it into ten years.
Here's a picture of the "new" one. Oddly I can't find any pictures of my original one. I know I have some at work that I'll find and post as well. So there you have it. A bit long winded, sorry.
Sorry to hear about the bad engine. Hope you get it on the road before too long. I don't have one rolling yet, but I am starting to think parts will be going back on it someday soon.
John's machine shop in Olathe is doing the motor. Very reasonable $, but don't be in a hurry. Here's a couple pics of my white '76 before beginning the restoration. FWIW both 40's are February 76 and the VIN numbers are only about 200 apart.
