I replaced all of the gaskets related to the oil cooler and reinstalled everything, and before I ever ran the engine, I bought a new short block. Is it safe to use the same gaskets, or do I need to purchase them again and install with another fresh set of gaskets? I know it is safest to buy new, but dang it, I have spent a lot of money and just don't want to spend more. I also don't want to be doing this again because of stupid gaskets.

New gaskets, absolutely. Toyota says single use. Never reuse any steel crush-type (embossed) gasket that has a hump or ridge in the middle (sealing bead). When the bolts are torqued down that raised hump/ridge is crushed forming the seal.

I knew this was the answer, lol. I was just holding out hope that it might be ok since the engine was never ran but knew it was a slim chance at best!
