IF the oil 'catch can' you select comes with a 'particulate type filter' pull that out and put some type of Brillo/Scrub pad in there. It will do a better job of quickly capturing the oil 'mist', having it condense and drop to the bottom.
Gotcha! What material Brillo is best? I saw someone further up used copper?

I use a Copper scrub pad in mine. It is 'Coarse', allows good flow and has plenty of surface area to capture the oil 'mist'. Copper will not react with anything the engine oil or emissions can throw at it.

Workin good for ya? Any issues off road sloshin around or steep angles?
Mine's catching for sure, emptied every oil change to keep low. Other hardercore wheelers may comment observable slosh out. Suggest one could bench tilt at different fills to find out.

Another thought: with the step-down inlet baffle, one could try flipping the hoses to get a "spill-proof" outlet effect? Dunno how much that spoils their mist condensation intent:

^many of us speculate the brillo does a surprising amount of the lifting anyhow

A little shameless self promotion - check out our catch can kit and forum thread!

Our kit includes everything needed for a super clean and compact install, and it ships right to your door. The catch can itself has been trusted by many members for years (we have linked multiple threads in our post), and we have personally run it for about 70,000 miles over the past 7 years. The kit is made up of quality parts, including the USA made catch can, a custom cut OEM Toyota PCV hose, a USA made aluminum bracket, and brass barb fittings. If you're interested, please take a moment to read through the thread or visit our website. We really appreciate the support!
