For a SOA? Do you remember the TLCA Mag articles from a year or 2 ago where the guy used Bronco springs? It seemed to work pretty well.

XJ springs work pretty well too from what I hear.

Trying to keep it mostly yota but I feel some Chevy in its future.

YJ springs work too but are a little too soft.
Donovan springs in Londonderry,NH ( http://www.donovanspring.com ) will build you new springs, for most any model year.
I heard they're pretty reasonable, I was going to call and get a quote from them soon on some rear 60 spring.
Maybe they would do them a little cheaper if a few others wanted them too?

Russ is running XJ springs in the rear and the go negative arch pretty quickly. He's had to add an extra leaf a time or two.

Minnie is running 63" Chevy springs in the year, but they are too long for a 40. I think it will be worth your while researching those 2 articles in Toyota Trails. The guy used Bronco springs and was able to go SOA without going crazy tall so his center of gravity stayed lower than some other options. The YJ & XJ springs are too soft for a vehicle as heavy as a 40. Plus you want to have a military wrap.

WTB - 1 set of rear 60 springs with a little life in them.
WTB - 1 spare 36x13x16...Swamper TSL would be nice but unlikely.

What about rear 55 springs?

Those are popular. Just not real common these days. I used rear FJ60 springs but they set the axle WAY back.

I have a friend who had some 55 springs. Maybe if I butter him up a little or get him good and shined up.

The issue with 55 springs is there usually beat pretty good.

I'll look into the above suggestions and look for that Toyota Trails write up.

Sorry I posted before I read the ad better. The good one has a side wall gash and runs a tube. One of the others might be good for a spare. The price seemed okay though.

I have a good set of rear 55 springs that i took of the 40 month ago,

I have whats left of 2 sets of supposedly4" fj45lv rear springs. one set was 50mm leafs the other was 30mm leafs. they were each 9 leaf springs I used a combinaton of leafs from each pack on Wilma and ended up using 6 leafs so I have hte rest on my basement floor. anyway was going to take them to the srap yard prolly 30 bucks
they are longer than stock 45 leafs and the 30mm leafs are pretty twisty.

Maybe it's just me but I'm so turned off by a refurb when people get sooooo close to stock but the details are all wrong... Wrong upholstery, wrong blinkers, orange valve cover but black floors, black bezel, yadda yadda...

I'd rather see a mangled beater with these mistakes... So close yet soooo far away....
