More often than not Ryan. Fact is, I spend a good amount of time reading about LS based swaps in many types of vehicles. My interest is in problems and solutions common to all. The "more than one way to skin a cat" theory.

The hard reality is that the parts support for the OEM engines in these trucks is thinning and the auto transmissions are not the type you can take to just anyone and will hit your budget hard for a rebuild. So swaps of one flavor or another will become more main stream if folks wish to keep their old LCs on the road. Swapping in a well supported diesel or V8 just makes sense for long term owners.

I'm still waiting for you to do the big daddy (L18) swap

Might as well tag me on this comment.

I don't think you are alone :) I wish I had the $$ back I just wasted on a Prius V :)

Curious - In 2016, I had significant work completed under the hood such as newer engine (has 88k miles on it), radiator refreshed, new oil pump installed, etc -- receipts for all. Wonder why the immaculate 62 had an engine replacement with only 133k miles?!

Al "I'm still waiting for you to do the big daddy (L18) swap"

That is a whole lot of motor for sure. I've not seen one in an LC yet. I'd be interested in the overall dimensions cut sheet to compare to the 5.3-6.2 Doubt I'd do one on a fixe

I am often asked why I do not do diesel swaps. I like the challenges of different swaps but my bottom line does not. Even within the LS/Vortec based swaps I already do there is more research for the different variants, I've not done two the same yet. That translates into hours and hours of time not on the clock.

Anyone have a clean stock 80 front bumper they would be willing to part with?

If you ever listened to The Beach Boys "409" and wondered what they were talking about. This is it.

I've got one coated in black raptor liner that is going to the dump soon.

Wonder how hard it would be to remove the raptor liner?
