Portuguese would make sense, the Bandeirante is Brazilian

That might just be the nicest thing in Walhala

That 55 was around for sale several months back. I'd certainly find a windshield first.

One would think but believe it or not there is an awesome tree house to stay at....built an owned by Seth Bolt, the bassist for the band Need to Breathe. It is on his parents property. My daughter and son in law stayed there two nights on their honeymoon back in May and when he saw that they were driving an FJ62, the dad showed them this ('65) that he has in his barn. Apparently Seth also has one that has been restored and it's his daily driver.

"Probably" needs a new engine.... ya know... when someone thinks the engine is shot, the price goes down a LOT...

Wouldn't it be nice to buy it and find out it doesn't need a new engine?

I want a 60's travelall as a tow rig ,so bad.

There was one that Brett was thinking of buying a few years back...... Travelall body on a 01 Dodge frame with the NV5600, 24V cummins D70/D60 combo. Lifted on 38's I think it put out about 1000 fl/lbs on the engine build up.

Was pretty awesome.

Exactly how we bought Heather's 80. $750 with a blown motor, sold the bumper for $250. New radiator (free) hoses and fluid change and she has been driving it since.

Blown motor 80 is $1K at best to me. That's how I bought 5. Good deal if you are thinking about a swap.

Aren't you ALWAYS thinking about a swap?

a little on the high end for that much rust... but pretty solid still

I'm dreaming a couple generations earlier...

I've been stalking and lusting over this truck, literally, my dream rig. Soooo far out of reach but, if I can find the right platform, and I can keep it a secret from Regina...

More often than not Ryan. Fact is, I spend a good amount of time reading about LS based swaps in many types of vehicles. My interest is in problems and solutions common to all. The "more than one way to skin a cat" theory.

The hard reality is that the parts support for the OEM engines in these trucks is thinning and the auto transmissions are not the type you can take to just anyone and will hit your budget hard for a rebuild. So swaps of one flavor or another will become more main stream if folks wish to keep their old LCs on the road. Swapping in a well supported diesel or V8 just makes sense for long term owners.
