I have no idea if this is a good deal or not as i've never shopped a FJ45 before but just posting for others to see

http://asheville.craigslist.org/cto/3421716748.html

I bought a couple of parts from him about two months ago. The truck looks nice and i couldnt see any rust on it. I think is a good project but a i am not familiar with yhe prices on this things. He has a lot of money on tires lift and engine.

No offense to the OP, but... in his words "It dont have any major rust other than some surface rust here and there."

Take a closer look at the rear sill my friend, that's a little more than surface rust. I'm w/ Darin, lil' steep for the given condition.

Josh spotted this '89 FJ62 for sale here in Charlotte. He and I both thought it was Bret's that he'd traded in. Well, it's not. Details are: 2 owners, 154k miles, new Mickey Thompson tires and wheels, OME 4" lift, nerf bars, roof rack with lights, lots of new parts including bumpers, side mirrors, brakes, etc. Asking price is $18k which is roughy what he has in it. PM me if you want the seller's contact info. I told him for that money, most guys in our club would buy a built 80 or 100 series.

$18k??? Holy smokes, this guy has got the good stuff!:smokin:

That's no where near a 4" lift. Dude is smoking crack. $17.9 at the most. And I'll put sandy up for 12 k. That's a deal!

nice looking rig but for 18k i would get a few 80s

FJ45LV

Since seeing a photo of a restored FJ45LV (wagon) a few years ago, I've had the yearning to own one. I have visions of hauling the family and our gear around for camping trips and running errands with room for things that won't fit in the 40.

As many of you know, the FJ45LV is somewhat rare (even moreso on the East coast) and some people have been known to hoard them. I'd ask that if any of you happen to come across one and aren't interested in it for yourself, to please let me know.

Given my lack of "skills" I'm looking for one in good mechanical condition that doesn't have more than the typical amount of rust many of us have grown accustomed to. Perhaps an older "restoration" or one with "patina". Budget is in flux but I will most likely sell my 40 to recoup the cost of one, if/when I ever find the LV I want.

FYI - I've already talked with ClemsonCruiser (aka JP) and hope to go see his dad's 45LVs (which aren't for sale) in the coming weeks.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

David

David, JP's are always going to be for sale. Every time he gets a new(?) one, he says he won't sell it, after it gets restored, it goes up for sale in a few months so he can get another one. There's hope.
