I received the following email this morning and I get at least one of these every week. I have always wondered how someone could be so stupid as to think that someone whom you have never met would just be willing to suddenly hand over $1M (or whatever the sum of money is). I don't know that I have ever met anyone that is dumb enough to send them the requested info. But since I get at least one of these types of emails every week, it must be working for the scam artists. :hhmm:

MY SINCERE APPRECIATION

Dear Friend,

I know that this mail will come to you as a surprise owing to the fact that
you may not remember me. I contacted you sometimes in the past concerning a
funds transfer which for some reasons I didn't conclude with you. I'm happy to
inform you about my success in getting those funds transferred under the
cooperation of a new partner from Trinidad and Tobago. Presently I'm in
Trinidad and Tobago for investment projects with my own share of the total
sum. Meanwhile, I didn't forget your past efforts and attempts to assist me in
transferring those funds despite that it failed us some how.

Now contact my secretary in Benin Republic, his name is Thomas Clarke on
thomasclarke@ibibo.com and ask him to send to you the total of $2,500,000.00
which I kept for your compensation for all the past efforts and attempts to
assist me in this matter in the past. I appreciated your efforts at that time
very much. So feel free and get in touch with my secretary Mr. Thomas Clarke
and instruct him where to send the amount to you.

Please do let me know immediately you receive it so that we can share the joy
after all the sufferings at that time. In the moment, I’m very busy here
because of the investment projects which me and the new partner are having at
hand.

Finally, remember that I had forwarded instruction to the secretary on your
behalf to receive that money, so feel free to get in touch with Mr. Thomas
Clarke, he will send the amount to you without any delay.

Regards,
Barrister Abel Dabul Esq.

Mike,

Are you telling me that Thomas Clarke is not going to deposit all of that money in my bank account? I guess I should not have sold my house:bang:

I get lots of dem letters also and in the trash they go :flipoff2:

Scam! What do mean scam!

The letter sounded honest enough and I was just trying to help the poor guy out.

I was honored that out of everyone out there, I was the one he trusted.:):):):):)

I guess I know why I could not get anybody at Vandergriff Toyota to respond to my emails inquiring about the PRG snorkel.

Apparently my wife bought me a snorkel for Valentines day and it just showed up on my doorstep.

Awesome!

No, I still have to hide all of those purchases from her and i got her some jewelry for valentines day that cost a little bit more than the snorkel. That being said, I am very surprised that she actually bought this thing and I can't wait to instal it. The snorkel shipped was $218. Not bad if it works just like the Safari and it actually came from a Toyota dealership. It's called a Pathfinder Recovery Gear Super Wader and even has the logo on the side just like the Safari. Go figure.

Now we get to drill holes in your FJ

Guys, I am going to need all of the help I can get because after Friday I will have a rear bumper, lower links, snorkel, and rear shocks to install. I also have to re-wire my roof lights. I will be struggling to find time to get all of this done but the more help the better. Bart and Brian also volunteered to help. Let's get Mardi Gras/Superlift out of the way and see what we can work out.
