since the forum is looking a little like the blue room at the moment, and I haven't had a chance to look it up...
I used my winch to pull my other car out of the yard a couple weeks ago. (after it rained a bunch, car wasnt going anywhere in that slop). Winch worked for a few seconds, then it started drawing down the battery. FJ was running, but headlights and engine would start to kill. Then winch stopped turning in or out. Now the solinoid clicks and draws down everything, thats all. I haven't opened up the solinoid box yet to look for corrosion or bad connections yet but probably this weekend.
Any other thoughts?

I'd say your battery is toast.

yeah but it can still be toast in that it doesnt provide enough amperage. The voltage may look correct but the amperage isnt there.

You need a yellow top. Red tops are good for cca but the power the yellow top has throughout is unbeatable and if you buy it through advance auto you get 50 bucks off using HUGE50

Ive gone through 3 in my car, damn stereo. I really need to get a trickle charger though cause it sits for a couple weeks at a time.
get the boring stuff out the way, then let me know when you get to cutting and welding
