A strong presence from CSC is always a welcome sight. Thank you all for coming up. The addition of other vehicles to the show worked out well .
For the first year of and event, this turned out better than anticipated . We will have a full calendar to prepare for the next one. I hope we can turn this into a broad based Toyota event. It would be great to see a huge turnout from CSC
Again
Thank you .

Good job Don an almost free event for me

Free entry - Participant in the car show
Free beer - Angie beer bartender needed a tester
Free food - FJC guy (Travis) Hey I remember you want a free dinner ticket ( I did share with Otter)

Also saved on gas with the new sub tank with no need to fill up at up north prices

Hey all! Just wanted to say thanks for letting us join you guys for the day! The gf, pup and myself all made it back to tucson today just fine. After we got the 40 running Saturday night, we made it about a mile from the event and engine stopped running. After a few minutes of scratching my head, I decided to pop a fuel line off and smell. Sure enough, water got in the fuel tank. Drained the tank to where I started smelling fuel again. Started right up and we started headed towards Sedona again. Another couple miles, power steering pump started to make the bad noises. As soon as the noise began, it stopped. No power steering. So removed the belt and finally made it to Sedona. On Sunday morning we went straight to the auto parts store and drained both diffs, trans/transfer case as they had a clam chowder color/texture. Fresh fluids and we where good to go minus power steering. I must of lucked out because the motor isn't making any noises so I think it will be all right. Just want to thank everyone for your help and generosity after the 40 became a boat. Thanks again everyone!

Looks like a good time

So any pictures of the water/mud that flooded everything? Curious had you extended any of the vents off the axles, transmission or transfer case? Water in the gas I'm guessing you were in water over the gas filler for a while and water seeped in the vent hole in the fill neck. I was going to ask if yours was a 68 or early 69 until reviewed the pictures again to see if there were any other clues. You license plate gave it away:doh: Sorry I missed the event. Hopefully next year I will be able to attend. Was thinking my 70 in my avatar but probably better my 68 which I had the axles with Lock-Rights under water a few times already plus at some point I'll be giving it to my adult son anyway.

Yes, glad it all worked out Ben! Good idea to swap all the fluids before going all the way to Tucson. If it wasnt for that hole in the intake tube youve made it through the water no problem...Im sure that will be solved soon ~

Hahaha yes the hole in the intake tube what held me from getting through! I had both diff breathers extended but I guess not enough. :bang: My seats where submerged so Im sure that gives you an idea of how deep it was. Was only submerged for a minute tops but it was enough to fill every place possible. I will be removing everything from the 40 today to let it dry, and spray all my tools down with some wd-40. The next few days ill be doing full fluid changes on everything again, new spark plugs and wires, cap and rotor, and ofcourse a new ps pump. Then it will get a full interior/exterior scrub down. Also need to remove the headlights and offroad lights and clean them out. They turned into fish bowls after the dip. But a true testament to these old landcruisers how tough they are. This trip was a blast, even with the little swim.

Good cruiser attitude!

So Friday night after work I am cruising down to Tucson to drop Rudy off to parents house so they can watch him before I go on PTO - coming into Tucson on I-10 doing about 65 and look in the side mirror and see this 40 in left line and who pulls up next to me but Ben. I can tell you that his 40 is running well and he proceeded to put the pedal to the metal and I just saw tail lights. Good to see that his truck is running well after the drowning

Cool, a little water isn't going to slow Ben down for too long.

It was nice seeing you on the I10 friday Rudster! Sorry about not being able to really hear ya! The 40 cruises great but cant hear yourself think! Yea so far everything appears to be running alright minus my speedometer not working. Job for another day:doh:
