Not me

I have always had snaps on the corners

There was a guy that had a reprotop made and his had a grommet and then the acorn afaik...id have check check the picsfor it...However the only oem one I've seen had nothing there... Just the bolt going thru the canvas a washer and then the acorn

More oem tops came with nothing inthe corner ... Canvas just flapped over

Supposedly OEM in early years, here is a picture. I got it off a thread probably in the fj25 section.

early years there would have been nothing...early windshield soft top frames didnt have that provision for the acorn nut to fit to (see pic #1)

some time around 68? when they used the same frame for HT and FST they would have used the acorn nuts

some early tops in vinyl had snaps....but...this may have been just a dealer thing (pic #2)

Though I just recently purchased my first cruiser, I have owned quite a few convertibles over the years...personally I would go with straps.

1. I like the look of the straps.
2. Straps are adjustable, and soft tops shrink and stretch.

a related question...how tall are the bows on an oem style top? anyone have a measurement that I can use as a comparison on my rig? i.e. distance from upper lip on the body to the tallest part of the bow? My concern is with fitment over the existing roll cage.

Thanks

JohnnyC,
My 64 FST matches your description. I have neither the provisions for the acorn nut or a place to put a twistlock.

Would be nice however, to pin that corner down.

Chris
