OK, first, to be honest I was a bit disappointed when I opened the box up to inspec the lights because there is a little fogging up on the lense from the inside.

I don't know how easily accessible it would be... you can look at the diagram make draw your own conclusions. You know, as with most everything if there's a will, then there's a way. :hillbilly:

That said, I should not be apologizing for these guys because I think the fogging up is minimal and they still would perform very good even if you don't clean the lense.

Projector lights are generally known for being a bit on the dark side, but they have an 85w (not the 55w=85w stuff) bulb in there.

The projector lense looks blue when not in operation, but once the light is turned on it emits yellow/amber light, perfect for foul weather, rain, snow, or fog.

Gotta take off for a few for lunch...

Don't stand by!

OK, some more pictures, etc...

The body is made of aluminum diecast with metal reflector and glass lenses. As stated above it comes with an 85w halogen bulb. Not sure if you can do HID upgrade or not, but if you're using for/as fog (foul weather) lights, you would not want them to be as bright as HID's anyway.

The pics illustrate the different positions that the mounting studs can take. The earlier quad-light PIAA's that I had posted had the similar system. If you want to mount them in front of the bumper like I have attached picture of earlier you probably would need to add some sort of washer/plate, etc... Time to put a thinking cap on if you want to mount it differently than just hang them below the bumper.

One of the unique characters of these PIAA's is that the mounting brackets can shift off to the left/right to accommodate your mounting surface:

Anyway, the fogging up probably is not quite as bad as it shows in the pictures. But I wanted to make sure that you knew that it was there.

I'm going to read up on how to possibly remove the glass/lenses off of automobile lights and see if it's something that I'm willing to tackle (again). I've done it once before, but failed miserably. :hillbilly: It's probably not helping me any if I continue to talk about this minor imperfection though, eh? ;)

Anyway, just to recap, these are new and comes as a set, with everything you'll need for installing and lighting them up (switch, relay, harness, sticker :hillbilly:). These are VERY cool light which cost $500+ retail when they were offered (Discontinued in Japan. Not sure if they were ever offered in the US market. I only did a quick research though!)

Anyway, with that said, I'm going to ask $125, plus shipping for them.

These lights were manufactured when PIAA made GOOD lights! VERY solid construction!!

ANYWAY, I'll entertain any offers though even if you want to humor me with some rediculously low-ball offers. ;)

Let me know!

I'm not sure if I have the strength, but I have one more set that you just have to see! :grinpimp:

Here's the other set of PIAA's that I have told you about: 90 Pro.

The pictures on the last post looked like the lights were in a crappy box, but it's mostly reflection caused by the shiny/mirror-like finish of the box.

These are also new in the box and the projectors are perfect, along with the spot beams to compliment the high beams of your headlights or driving lights.

The fog side takes 85w H1 bulb and the spot side comes with 110w H3 bulb (According to the package). I've read online (US sites) that these had the 55w=85w type of writing, but I see no indication of that on the box. So I feel good about sayiing that they have the true 85 and 110w halogen bulbs.

As you saw in the last picture it appears that these particular lights can be mounted either hanging down or up-side-down.

OK, so enough with the teaser stuff and here is what the lights and everything that comes with them looks like.

***WARNING***

IF YOU'RE EASILY AMUSED WITH SOME POS AUTOMOBILE LIGHTING IT IS STRONGLY ADVISED THAT YOU EXIT THIS THREAD IMMEDIATELY.

ALSO, IF YOU'RE CONTEMPLATING SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED $$$ ON SOME USEFUL MODS DO NOT LOOK AT THE BELOW PICTURES AS THEY WILL MAKE YOU FORGET ABOUT THOSE MODS AND YOU WILL FEEL A SUDDEN URGE TO PURCHASE THESE LIGHTS.

These pictures just don't do justice! (I'm a whiner!:flipoff2:)

Sorry for being lazy, but here are the rest of the pics!

Yeah, they're just lights and probably not all that cool to most of you, but I thought they were/are so -looking

The last pic is taken with them upside down.
Again, the instruction says that you can mount them either way.

Also, you ajust the projector by aiming the housing up or down, but you can also adjust the spot beams independently as well. So you should get the optimal aiming for both of them!

ANYWAY, I believe these too are also discontinued and currently not available from PIAA.
These are also made of metal/glass, like they way they should always/still come!

When they were available they went for around $450 in the US (Not sure about in Japan, probably more).

The projectors emit the yellow/amber lights when in use, but are in blue when not on. No fogging up or anything.

ANYWAY, let me know if anyone is as helpless about automobile lighting as I am. :hillbilly:

As always, thanks for looking!!

Mot :)

And what are you selling them for? $$?

Eric,

Thanks for your interest!

I've already got someone interested in the set and have just told him the following:

I've seen those lights go for $437-$474 plus shipping, which would make them probably $470-$500-ish with shipping in the US.

That said, I'd like to start by asking $320, plus shipping for them.

Shipping would be something like $60 via slowboat, so your end cost will be $380 which is $100(+) cheaper than trying to get a new set in the US, if you could locate a new, complete set, that is.

I guess it's hard to put a price tag on something that has been discontinued, but the pickings are slim when it comes to aux. lights that have both spot and projector yellow (ion-crystal is the term that PIAA used, I guess) all in one housing with metal/glass.

I'll also listen to any offers, so please don't be afraid to let me have it/them!!!
(I don't really want to hang on to them as I would get too attached! ;) Also, I'd much rather these went to a Mudder than trying to sell them on e-bay.)

Mot :)

Lets say I already had the slee aux lighting harness sitting around waiting to be used, so I don't need relays, wires, switches, etc.... All I need are lights.

I want yellow fogs. I'd prefer rectangular to round.....

watch'ya got? Those PIAA's are nice, but the price is getting really close to HID prices...

PS, I'm the $1 bidder on your bosch's! :)

Eric,

LOL!!
I was going to suggest the Bosch ones!

I've got them on for sale on an auction here as well which is supposed to end in three days.

I have set the reserve on that one at about $100 and as of now I've had 122 views, with seven people wathing it. The e-bay auction, on the other hand, has 100 views and four people wathing it.

If the reserve here is met I will have to sell them here (as in Japan) and will therefore have to end the e-bay auction.

That said, if you'd like, you can make me an offer you feel comfortable with on them before the Japan auction ends and if it's not crazy cheap they're yours. In fact go ahead and low ball me and I will end both auctions early for you. :D

Or if you feel lucky you can wait and let both auctions take their course and possibly get them literally dirt cheap! ;)

I think they're nice and big and would work great for you! (Hope you know by now that I'm not just saying that!)

Hope they end up in your hands though!!

Hope you and the loved ones are staying warm!!!

Mot :)

I just talked to a mudder who will be visiting Japan next month.

He generously offered me to take any of the items I have for sale and ship them from the US (CA) to save on shipping cost(s) to anyone contemplating purchasing these lights.

Those would be fairly signifiant especially on the big ones such as BOSCH and the PIAA 90 Pro.

The PIAA's in the Post #338 have been sold, pending payment. :crybaby:

Alright Mot, I'd like the mounting brakets and the pull switch. I can get the lights here in town. Thanks,

Chet

Chet,

NP!

Just confirmed with Toyota that the old-school fog lights (and the replacement bulbs) are still available from them. ;)

Check to see if you can get them locally first as it would probably be the cheapest way.

That said, my current cost, sadly reflecting the weak US$, will be $89.50/each, plus shipping.
I still have a few sets of the mounting brackets and the pull switches.

Those would be $50/switch and $50/2 brackets, including shipping.

Let me know if you can't get the fogs locally (including the whole US) and I would be happy to take your hard earned $$$!

Thanks for your interest!

Mot :)

Chet,

Did I mention that my PayPal is: motoomi@yahoo.com

Let me know if I can answer any questions before you take the plunge!

THANKS AGAIN!!

Mot

Do you know what time it is???

It's time for another one of my stupid experiment since I haven't done it in a long while! :hillbilly:

So, the curiosity got the better of me about the smaller PIAA projectors for our applications.

I wondered what they would look like on an aftermarket bumper (I don't have the ARB )
