OEM FJ40 Rear Bumper Step?

My 68 had a hole and we welded it up during the restoration. Mine also had a 2” receiver that fit under the bumper. That bolts to the rear cram member. Even with the receiver, I don’t think I would pull more than a yard cart.

Back in 2011 I tried to help WWII vet sell his one owner 70 FJ40. Here is the rear bumper he added for off road.

Times were not that good in 2011 and just ended up buying it myself. He still have the original rear step and bumperettes. Added a few reflectors and brought it back to stock.

So would a ‘76 or ‘78 come with one on it or was it a option from Toyota?
 
Stock item on 40 series without a tailgate. FJ25s had them as as far as I know lasted thru the end of the run on short and mid wheel base 40 series. Troopies either didn't have them or different style.
