Hey guys and gals,
CruiserStuff and I have a question for you all.
I'm about to paint my pig Pollux Orange but we are not sure about the roof color.
Was the OEM roof color a darker shade then the body color?
For example:
Body: Pollux Orange TO304
White
Roof: Persimmon Monte Rose

If you look at the picture, the roof is clearly darker then the body BUT is that from the angle/light taken during the picture?
Thanks in advance!

This is the rig in question. We really don't think this pig was ever repainted, yet the roof cap and the body color are obviously different in this pic.

Unfortunately, there are not too many pigs of this color out there to compare to.

Here's a pic with a chip of the the factory persimmon on top and the pollux orange on the bottom:

Whatcha guys think? :meh:

Looks like the paint around the lower body has just really really faded from the sun. the color that was protected behind the rear reflector and back up light looks to be the same color as what is on top to me.

The nice thing about a re-paint is that you can do whatever the hell you want. Paint it persimmon and orange if you like, or red/white/blue. It's all you man.

As "doc" says, it's up to you. Factory they were the same.

Thanks guys and gals!
I really appreciate it. I'll figure out the paint combo when my paint guy gives me the go. I have a build thread ready to start soon, just have to get my lazy butt to get it together. Lots of pig porn and literature. Thanks again for your help.

If you look at the angle of the sunlight on the pic, the sun is hitting the side of that rig directly so it's much brighter than the flat roof that isn't getting a direct exposure. Long story short, same color.

Check Pollux. I painted a truck pollux orange then painted another rig the color of the pumpkin formula off the CCOT website. I REALLY liked the CCOT shade better than the pollux

The as/is pic looks like it could be the sister of my 74. If you want to compare, it's on page 11 of "owners post here." It has been repainted 30+years ago. I would have to say the top original color does look like a different shade than the lower body. In the end Doc is right. It's all up to you.
