Odyssey Battery for an 80 series

Yes, I believe this is true. What I meant was that there is not an equivilent DHP for every odyssey, only a very limited subset.

Like I said, if one of the available DHP fits your application great, otherwise you could consider the odyssey.

For example, most DHP (actually all of them from what I can tell) have the terminal reversed which work great in passenger side applications. Used in the drivers side, the terminals are reversed requiring some fix. There are many Odysseys with the correct orientation.

Now that wouldn't be honest, would it?

Absolutely, I wasn't disagreeing with you at all.

That said, with the amount of mods done to the vehicle at this point and no desire on my part to ever return to stock, I will reroute and upgrade the cables in order to have the most powerful battery in the rig.

My group 34 DHP in my FJ40 is awesome, I used a fabricated hold down and it has kicked some ass.

I see that Canadian Tire markets an AGM battery that physically looks very similar to the Sears DHP, and for the group 65 model, has the same 930 CCA rating.

Anyone know if this is also a re-labled Odyssey? EDIT (June 2013): I learned these are relabelled Northstars. I ended up buying a Northstar 34/78 DT from Edmonds Batteries Ltd. in Langley, BC. They were knowledgeable, helpful and unlike Canadian Tire, didn't care if the battery I wanted was not the stock size.

I have done a ton of research and have come to the conclusion that all things considered an Odyssey battery is the best overall choice.

With that said, I bought the battery that Odyssey indicated was the right one for the 80 series and it is a 34R-PC1500T-A.

I got it out of the box and it looks like a little baby battery. It is dwarfed by the Sears battery I replaced. Is this the best model for an 80 series that is wheeled alot with a ton of electrical gear on it?

Is there a model that better fits in the 80 series battery slot?
These fit, with some minor fin trimming:

Right. All threads should be abandoned after a maximum of 13 months, Because no one has ever found inaccurate or outdated information in an old thread and followed it. And most assuredly, no one has ever found useful information about our 25yo vehicles in a thread that’s 10 years old, or older. That's why no one ever advises others to search existing threads, and why we all look forward with great eagerness to answering questions that have been exhaustively covered in the past...

Also, check your grammar, your math, or both.
