Twice today this happened:

First time truck has set for about 3 hours. Second time about 20 minutes.

Push clutch in, turn key and it fires up and dies immediatly. Feels like only 1 or 2 cylinders fire before it stops. It's that fast. Then try again and it cranks for maybe 2 seconds (Feels like forever because this truck has been a first try kind of vehicle since I got it) but it fires up with no problem, and no running issues, idles fine drives like normal.

I haven't checked anything yet, just thought I'd ask you guys, since my brain is wiped from working all day.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

I'd begin by checking the battery terminals - tight, clean etc.
Then the wiring to the coil and distributor - loose , corroded etc. Look for oil coming from the coil; rare, but possible.

...Also check spark plugs and leads.

You know about the classic "starter contact fix". Sometimes the starter will barely engage just enough to almost start the truck. You then try to start it again and it fires right up or it doesn't (even with EFI it "floods" just enough so that you got to wait a bit) untill you start it again. When my contacts wore down it was not obvious to me at the time untill I had allready checked the battery and all the connections.
