I have an 80 Series, OBD1 and the ECL illumintes occasionally after a few minutes driving (not every time I drive), however, when the engine is shut down and restarted, the CEL is off. Sometimes shutting the engine down and restarting it will clear the CEL and it wont illuminate again on that drive.
I have done the diagnosis port check for fault codes but none have been recorded.
I have researched but cannot find any way to diagnose a CEL fault while the engine is running and the CEL illuminated.
Is anyone familiar with a similar situation that can share information on how to troubleshoot this problem?
