What was the problem and solution?

Problem was dead speedo cluster. Solution was new speedo cluster.

I'm pretty sure that's where I am, too. How many miles were on the Odo at the time? I'm at 280k+ miles.

I have this same symptom, and my speedo is extremely intermittent. I just bought the truck a few weeks ago, and the truck wouldn't shift on it's own. Put a fresh set of solenoids in it, and the trucks shifts like it's brand new. The OD flashing light is only about a week old, but shifting is still normal.

Does this sound like a speedo sensor?
