I've run an internal slave behind a GM6.2 diesel for over 10 years in a 60 without issue.
Until recently there wasn't an AA bell housing available for use with a GM version NV4500. I used a GM NV4500 internal slave bell housing.

The factory GM clutch master is .75" dia, but is plastic and kind of cheesy.
The Cruisers' master cyl is also almost .75 but doesn't have a long enough stroke. A Wilwood .75 works perfect an moves a GM 12" clutch with the pedal pressure of a Corolla.

Just pulled it off the 6.2 and put it behind an Isuzu

Glad to hear from someone who has done something similar as to what I'm looking at. Were you able to position the engine such that the shift tower of the transmission cleared the dash / heater duct work on the floorboad (the shifter arm / transmission shift tower)?

My big question as of late has been can I get the shifter of the nv4500 to position properly so that it clears the dash...etc.

What transfer case are you running?

The coupler that joins the shifter to the tranny would normally be straight. I had to cut it and put about a 20 deg angle in it to angle the shifter back a little. The small heater duct at the bottom needed removing. Driver gets more heat than the passenger.

It is an FJ60 Splitcase

It's interesting to read this; you did exactly what I did right down to the heat duct removal. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I get more heat without the thing.

Elbert,

Do you have an NV4500 transmission? If not, I know someone who has a brand new GM (6.54 first gear) 4x4 NV4500 transmission.

update...

think I've solved my issues with the marks adapter, or I shoudl say ACC solved my issues. Looks like due to incomplete or just innaccurate instrucitions that came with my marks kit, we left off the small shims that attach to the clutch fork when we did my engine swap. So teh resulting throwout bearking and clutch fork action was defective...

Would have been great to have good instructions at day one.

Anyway took the truck to the ACC shop in Atlanta about two weeks ago...they notced the missing shims, got them replaced, new slave cylinder, made all the adjustments and its shifts well without the slippage I was experiennncing previously.

So I'll stay without what I have as its paid for (for now).. appreciate the info on the NV4500.

I kow this is a very old thread but im going to write anyway. I have an 84 fj60. It has a fairly stock 2f with .60 cyl. I have the nv4500 tranny in it and the stock tranfer. The AA kit makes it all possible. This rig has been a daily driver from VA to MN through many winters and back and forth to drill. I use it for a work truck hauling my climbing gear and saws. The granny low has saved my but many times, so I put up with starting in second. The OD/ 5th gear puts me up to cruise at 75 if I want without strain. I often thought of putting a bigger engine in it but then I wouldnt have the bullet proof 6cyl. Right now its built to do what a beasty truck should. Go in the snow, mudd, off road, groceries, drywall and lumber, pull a tree over with 8000lb warn winch, and pull others out when theyre stuck. That is all :)

The OP was asking with regards to his V8 swap, but that is still good information.

I am working on putting an NV4500 behind my 3FE at the moment, I'm glad you posted as there is not a lot of information out there as to how well the stock motors do with it.

May I ask how old your conversion is? The Advance Adapters kit to put it behind the 2F has been discontinued for years and I have to piece together my own "kit" using many different parts from many vehicles :)
