Yeah, I'm freakin' ancient.

When I was a kid ... football was actually played outdoors ... on grass; oranges actually grew in Orange County; there were no HOV lanes; we had to get up to change the tv channel; there were still races at the Riverside raceway! :)

Argentina to Alaska in a Vintage 1928 Graham-Paige

(I don't think this is hijacking but may not warrant its own thread) I just came across a small article in the Calgary Herald talking about a family "expeditioning" since 2000 in a 1928 Graham-Paige vintage automobile. Now that takes kahunas.

Hey my neighbor here in Silverton is one of the guys you saw on Alpine loop. He has 3 or 4 of those cars, and drives around all the time! If you're ever up this way, say Hi. I am here, FJ62 out front.

I sure feel crappy about all my whining now. "I don't have defrost or wipers, water pours on me when I turn, the doors won't latch right." :crybaby: That crap bugs the hell out of me for my 10 minute commute to work. People were trucking around the world like that, very admirable indeed.:cheers:
 
OK......I am not crazy.....I saw that SAME(or its identical twin, twin driver, town stuff) in Gig harbor WA a month or so ago, he was on HWY 16(and doing maybe 30) and it looked like heading for I5........had the same stuff in the bed....I called Connie when I saw him.

any clue where it was from? those aint WA plates I dont think

This old man was hard core! I saw him today driving on our local freeway! Doing like 30mph! Wagon wheels wobbling all the way. Packed with sleeping bags and gear.. he was goin somewhere! It wasn't restored.. it looked as if he uses it everyday. I purposely pulled over and stood outside the rig and gave him a huge thumbsup as he passed.

I drove behind him as almost to protect him from some of the idiot drivers here. So cool. Man after my own heart.
