Confirmed

I will bring a couple of helmets even though it seems everyone bought extras, I didn't realize we had so many welders

Also, I will monitor 146.460 that evening, driving in if anyone wants to chat. One thing to keep in mind is that some of Pikes Peak Radio Amateur Association members use this frequency quite often.

Monitoring on your way to the brewery I assume. :grinpimp:

Hey guys, for those of you that aren't into beer, the BBQ looks and smells awesome. Just an idea if you want to come down early and get some pre-meeting 4wheelin' talk in.

Looking forward to tonight's meeting!

On a semi-related note, here's a neat instructable article on battery welding with a handheld spool welder:

It's wire welding, so might not be able to weld up big broken stuff, but would probably be a lot easier for welding novices such as myself.

See you guys tonight!

Interesting - not sure what the point of a flux core spool gun is. I thought they were typically just for aluminum. But interesting for battery welding.

Man, that was Fun!

Thanks to Justin for letting us have free reign of the shop.

Thanks to Leon for setting it up.

Thanks to Luke for being the guinea pig.

Thanks to Doug for being the only one to remember gloves.

Danger, excitement, smoke, sparks, battery acid...

That Tech session is going to be a tough one to beat!

Leon, can you post up some of those action shots?

I've got an idea for the next tech session. I've heard if you cut a valve stem while wheeling, you can cut it clean with the rim, push it into the tire, and insert another valve from the outside by working it in with a small screwdriver, all without unseating the tire bead. I have to see it to believe it. Just so happens I have a spare tire and wheel.

Yes, it was a good time indeed!

Two batteries in series, 6011 rod, anyone recall the diameter?

And thanks to Travis and Ryan for using their batteries!

Anyone know how to embed a video?
