Now, it's life in the 'burbs with the Mrs. and the LPB. :D

Darin,

Got your PM's just been so busy lately......Will get out there and get that stud off the block in the next day or so and in the mail to you. :)

Let me know if you need anything else.

Matt

Matt,

I figured you were busy. I did not want to bug you. I got everything else cleaned up and on for the time being. Going to get a carb kit for the carb you sent me and go thru it. I got the one piece that you sent me run to the dizzy, that line actually cleaned up really nice.

I tried all sorts of things for that stud though. All sorts of bolts and i just can not get one even close to right. Then again i might not be holding my tongue right.

FWIW, Darin, this is the special stud that goes in that position. It is the same pitch/thread as the studs that hold your carburetor to your intake.

Got any extra, incase Matt can not get the other one out.

I know i have nothing like that sitting around here.

By the way while you got it out there, what is the thread pitch so i can run a tap down the hole.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's 1.75. Wish I had a spare. :)

I think you can make one out of the intake/carb studs and a couple of nuts. I definitely have spare studs if you can't find one.

If Texican can get the set out of his for me, though, you're welcome to that piece. I just need some of the other stuff to get working.

Not much to report right now.

Just waiting on some parts from a few places, and a rear drivshaft to get finished.

Hopefully if all goes well I will have tags and such for this next week.

Seeing as i used the garage to do all the work in, now i am redoing the garage as i type this. I am repainting the entire garage right now. Rearanging it also.

It is amasing what you will find as you are moving the entire garage around. Found parts for this thing that i was looking for, just small pieces though.

The one main thing i am looking for right now are some steps for this thing. Mine were not worth the effort. I might just have to fab something close up.

We shall see. Funds are tight on a retirement paycheck.

Oh, and i said to heck with it and went fishing today for a bit. Not too hard, the lake is right behind the house. Never caught anything today though.

Fishing is good for the soul, even if you don't catch anything. I wish I had time to do it more often.

Yes, it was actually very relaxing yesterday to just take some time and go fishing.

What was really funny was the UPS driver came by and was like what are you doing, you need to get back to work. Then after i told him why i was taking a break he just started laughing and said he would be doing the same thing.

He wants to see my truck on the road also. He was happy knowing he was bringing me more parts on tuesday next week. Whatever makes his day.

Little update here.

I ended up making a bolt / nut / sleeve combo for the linkage on the carb / engine block. Did not take any pics but it seems to work for the time being. I can use the gas pedal now.

Got the driveshafts done now so will be putting them in today, and will try and get the better half to help bleed the brakes / clutch and might try this thing out today / tomorrow.

I am hoping for the best.

Kool. Did you take a picture of the hinge piece you made?

Excited that you're making the maiden voyage. :D

No pics yet of it. Hope it will work for a bit though. What i ended up doing , I took a bolt that was the same length as the stud you supplied the pic of and put some larger nuts on it for the right offset then took a nut that actually fit it thread wise and drilled out the center, and then took it to the grinder and ground down the outside till it was round and fit inside of the linkage part.

Now I am about confused myself, but it works for the time being.

Should be tomorrow for the maiden voyage under its own power. Keeping my fingers crossed.
