Too bad I'm not in the position to buy this thing because it looks to be fabulous condition.

This is a fraud (as most here have already figured out...). This same vehicle was for sale last weekend in San Francisco, listed as 3 previous owners and 150,000. I was hoping to check that one out and communicated with the seller but never made it up there. It sold last weekend, and then I saw this pop up, which looks the same, same bull bar. I talked to this seller and I agree with what others have posted, seemed shady, not forthcoming. So I texted original seller since I had his contact info and he says it is definitely the same truck. Two Portuguese guys bought it last weekend (described as "slimy"). Apparently it was a fraudulent sale for him and he lost $7,500 on it, then sold with full disclosure to these guys (he had it listed around $12k). Now these guys are using the same old fraudulent carfax and must have rolled it back. Surprised they didn't remove the bull bar... Gotta be on your toes out there!

wow, thanks to everyone in the Forum for the info, I was considering flying out to San Jose to look at it. Glad i didn't waste time or money.

It looks like it's back on CL, but without the bull bar...

Does anyone have the VIN who can post it here so this thread will show up in a google search? Hate to see a fellow mudder get scammed.

I lived in the Bay area for a few years...and I had multiple occasions on which odometers had been rolled back by Craigslist sellers. Some even provided VIN #'s which were for other same-year 100's from the region. So whenever you look at one, be sure to check for yourself physically to verify that the VIN any seller provides actually matches the key VINS such as the dashboard VIN, doors, hatch, etc. I had a couple where the Carfax looked great, and the odometer matched the Carfax....but then the VIN on the vehicle revealed it to be an entirely different vehicle. No need to be paranoid, but good rule of thumb to always verify the VIN on the vehicle and not just a text or a carfax sent by seller (though those can be good places to start the dialogue before you've seen it in person).
