I don't mean to be rude, but what luck are you having on getting it back to the coast? I won't get into an ICBC bash, I hope it is getting worked out.

Hi Phil,

Tanis and I have been discussing planning a lower mainland trip. We were going to fly, but I would kind of rather drive my new super ram, and I have been hankering for an excuse to tow something with it. If you are still looking for transport, and are not in a hurry to get it to you, let me know.

Also, either way we go, if you need a place to park that wreck in Calgary, there's lots of room at the acreage. I can take delivery of the unit, or even pick it up if needed, and store it for some time if needed.

Awesome Peter, no word from ICBC, but I have told them I won't sign the salvage papers, unless they decide to offer me at least $7,500, which will probably never happen. I'm still not sure where my truck is, I know it's not in Banff. I'll shoot you an email once I have more info, thanks again for the offer.

Hi again, not sure where you are in the process now. I am re-reading Tapage's build of 'Tencha' and I just got through page 1 when I read, after he had rolled his truck - quote

"Here we have a saying " no hay mal que por bien no venga " that is something like there is no bad think that could make a good one ..

Anycase ... new evolution "

I looked at the pic of his truck and I thought, maybe I should post this back up. I've got a few extra parts kicking around. I hope you resurrect your truck, something great could come of it. Good Luck, J

Here's the latest,
Lili is still in Calgary, I have negotiated with ICBC to keep the truck. They appraised Lili at $2,900 + tax. ICBC keeps 25% for salvage value and they take my $300 collision deductible, so I will end up with the truck and around $2,300 from ICBC. Once I sign the form I have a couple of days to get Lili out the lockup, I will not have to pay any towing or storage fees. Peter has graciously offered to retrieve Lili and bring her home, once again the LC community is the absolute best, I cannot think of any kind of passion that people are involved in where they offer so much support and so much of themselves. I think Peter is in Montana retrieving parts, which I mentioned to my ICBC appraiser, he told me that nothing can happen until I sign the forms and send them back (hint, hint). So until I have all my ducks in a row, tee up Peters schedule, she'll sit for a few more days. I have started looking south for a replacement truck, places like SoCal, AZ and TX, 60 series trucks are getting more difficult to find, hoarders are starting to collect them as parts are becoming obsolete.

Well there's good news, shame you're only getting that much for the truck.
The community and the people here are truly amazing.
I recall Mikesta (I think that was his handle on MUD) in Seattle always had a 60 hanging around the yard for sale or parts, not sure if he's still doing that, if he is they usually were California trucks.

Contact "theside00" him (Adam) and Torfab had a few clean 60 bodies in his yard last time I was there. One very nice White one too.

Glad you got the truck back and that you have someone to hold/transport it for you.

Well here we go. Lili is loaded up and we are on our way. She had good company at the storage yard - a smucked RHD surf with biohazard stickers on it was watching her back.

Phil, a high pitched buzzer (not key alarm) has been ringing since she arrived. She likely just wants you to know she's still alive. ;) Your roof rack is in the back seat. BTW looks like you'll need a new sector shaft and your DS front spring perch broke off.
