As noted on the schedule there is an expo ride scheduled for Saturday, August 16th. The details are not quite hammered out yet, but they will be soon. This is a great ride for a lot of the closer to stock trucks or the HUGE mall crawlers (yea thats you Patrick :flipoff2:). Should be a great day of exploring and hopefully allows some of the not so often wheeled trucks to be put in 4wd...

NEW Updated info on the ride...

We are planning to LEAVE the Waffle House at the end of GA 400 in Dahlonega (link below is the address) at 9 am. Plan to be there a little early so you are not late, because our plan is to be leaving the parking lot at 9. I think some of us are planning to get up there around 8:30 and having some breakfast. The plan is to have lunch at a small grill/country store about 1:45 (if we stay on schedule). Lunch should be about $10. For those that are interested, we are planning can re run one of the first trails after lunch or call it a day.

So would that white 80 of yours. But it gets wheeled even less than Woody.

I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

That said White 80 will be on the EXPO ride...

I took it out to Durhamtown when Josh was here in May, so it HAS BEEN wheeled more than your grocery getter :flipoff2:

Some additional thoughts on the latter part of the day. After lunch, there are multiple options for the group or individuals:
- re-run any of the roads from the first half of the day.
- run some new roads starting from the lunch spot (in Dial, at Aska Rd/Newport Rd.) Many to choose from, east toward Wilscot, west toward Ellijay, or southerly/southwesterly to Rock Creek, Winding Stair Gap, or Frosty Mtn/Amicalola.
- short but interesting road then short hike to Toccoa Swinging Bridge on the Benton MacKaye Trail
- check out the 1918 one lane bridge, over the Toccoa at Shallowford Rd
- go tubing on the Toccoa (2-3 hours minimum)
- go home

Wife and I are in as long as my parents are doing kid duty, that involves dancing lessons, swimming lessons and soccer practice. Will have grandparents conformation Wednesday.

Bribe 'em

Just like normal, my truck breaks a few days before a ride :bang:

On my way to work yesterday, right after I got off the interstate, I went to brake at a light and :censor: the pedal almost went to the floor and I had hardly any brakes. Luckily I drive like a grandpa and start to brake early so I had time to downshift and rub the curb a little bit so I didnt hit the car in front of me. I pulled off to the side and found out that my brake master cylinder decided to go out. So tonight I (with the help of John) will be replacing it so I can still make the ride.

Hope everyone else is ready for the ride...

Sorry guys I have to go into work for a few hours Saturday. Hopefully I'll make the next one.

Bummer to hear that, Tyre, we're re-running the really good road we ran last year that you missed in the afternoon. We'll raise a wheel for you while we're out there!
