Ok very familiar with Trey because of the AT. Great camping right near there off FS58 I believe it is. Three forks is the area. Purdy area.

I'm doing at family wheel in uwharrie that weekend, but where are you thinking of camping at coppinger? I'm going to be there on Sunday 10/12 to pop the question and would love to find a cool cabin or private camp area close by.

Family and I are heading to the GA traverse this weekend. I know it’s just a dirt road but ya gotta start somewhere. I’m used to having a tractor bucket to extract myself so I’ll definitely feel naked without it. Thanks for the tips guys.

Will do.

Went out for a couple of days and nights and had fun but moved slowly. Started in Dillard GA at Betty’s Creek Rd. and got off just before Vogel State Park. Skipped Tray Mt area. 2yr old got Strep a few days ago and threw up roughly 30 times along the trip. Got lazy hanging my food last night and a bear got it down and helped itself. Feel super bad about that because of the behavioral issues that creates for the bear and others. Off line GPS did not work at all although it’s been tested a few times closer to home. Still had lots of fun. Most of it was easy but a few areas west of Tallulah river had me a little nervous. Off camber areas especially with ruts just spook me but the suspension kept the vehicle surprising level. Worn highway tires did surprisingly well in the small bits of mud where all four wheels are in and your climbing. ATRAC kicked in once. There was one 30 or so minute decent that was very rocky and rutted but I went slow and tried to pick lines that protect the underside and avoid yaw.

Will definitely go again but hopefully with a group and with GPS. We missed the full kitchenette we had in the Tacoma but the tailgate did ok. Carpet there just sucks so that will likely get replaced too.

My GF and I are going to be running coppinger cove today. We're going solo- it's a trail I'm familiar with and we're only taking the scenic lines. I'll have my FRS on, channel 13. Anyone in the area feel free to say hi. If I don't post back tonight, someone text me.

If all goes according to plan, I won't have to sit in this engagement ring anymore 😄

We were up on the Traverse Friday and Saturday. We started in Clayton and got off in Blairsville. Found two campsites off of the Traverse on forest service roads that were fantastic. It was quite busy around Tallulah River/Charlie’s Creek crossing. If you go up that way don’t expect to find a spot at any of the 3 campgrounds. It was not a big deal for us though because we prefer finding a private spot to campgrounds.

Congrats Mongoose
