Yoop, any local (ie non-chain) places you'd recommend, preferrably in or around the Loop? My wife's running the Chicago marathon this weekend. I'm supposed to pick a place for us and her running friends to go on Sunday night.

Every time I see the word 'Kobe' I don't think of cow meat... Oh well.
Just to keep this post on topic:
The in laws got me a new grill a few months ago. We've had some great BBQ pig ribs and some good grilled cow meat. I never seem to do well with poultry on the grill unless it is a turkey cooked in a charcoal weber.

For instance:Hormone shots given to the beef, to make it grow quicker. (less growing time= more profit).
I personally think the hormores in the meat is a direct corallation to the size of our children.Kids are larger, girls are developing breasts eariler, etc. THOUGHTS??

Noah, I suck at cooking meat. The best thing I have learned so far is to let meat sit out to get to room temp. I cooked a Ribeye after doing this and it was the best I have ever made. Tomorrow I am cooking 4 New Yorkers and need a down and dirty method on what temp I should cook them at using a gas grill and whether i should let them sit out--how long?
Any other important tips?
