I wish mine would go out. Still going strong at 160k.

I'm in the no double D club:hillbilly:. Both the console and dash lights are out.:steer:

I bought my truck with over 200,000. I actually like the lack to the D light. One less light to blind me when I drive.

Gone when i bought her at @218K, but who knows when it went out. The PO wasn't known for upkeeping the 80....:flipoff2:

Just hit 180,000 miles this past weekend and the light has been out for a nice long time. Now if I could only get rid of that CEL and the dash would be nice and colorless at night. Especially when you dim the interior lights...sorry officer I couldn't see what my speedometer was reading:D

Just fixed mine... Took the cluster out and behind it there are three tabs that releases the PRND... Box.. Pulled it out and found out there was extra bulbs that are not being used... So I just swaped it and all is good

153,000 with no "D". I'll have to try the "Technical Tap".!

160k no D. Just got cruiser though so no idea when it went out. Think i will just leavenit as is. I assume since the truck is moving fwd i am in drive lol

Bought at 146k with no "D" light... my neutral seems to be intermittent from time to time now around 150k. As OCD as I can be, I'm surprised to report it really doesn't bother me. :)

Got mine at 196k and no D light, read this thread just now thumped the s**t out of the cluster and the lights on. Thanks guys.

Bought at 150K with D light out. I don't mind; like some others, I appreciate a darker dash at night. The indicator on the floor shifter works fine for me.

On the other hand, I fixed it right away when the D light went out on the Tundra.

Obliquely similar: My 60 is missing its shift-pattern emblem on the top of the manual shifter knob too (makes it hard on anyone who does not know where reverse is).

D Light

Mine works after I did the "Smack the S*** out of the Dash Method" but In gear It only lights 1/2 as bright as the other gears Is this a safety feature that Mr.T designed In or just a dim bulb does anyone know?

Curious about this too. Mine is on at 206k miles.

I've got a 91 with 242,000 and I still have the D. I'm also in the middle of replacing my heater core which means removing the entire dash area of the truck. I've got the instrucment cluster sitting on the floor of my garage. Should I replace the D bulb anyway? I never want to dig this far into the dash again. Any other bulbs in there I should replace even though they are all still working?
