Anybody know the Allen head size and torque spec for this plug on the upper oil pan?

18–lb·ft, same as the drain plug.

Then it's a 12 or 14. I haven't looked at that one in quite a while. I seriously doubt it's 17–mm, but those are your choices.

Am I the only guy here who didn't know that existed until just now? Did Toyota decide to allow a way for owners to change the oil when the rig is at a steep incline, hence the No.1 Oil Pan Drain Trick? 🤔

Been discussed many times in the past, that plug is from a machining process ie: they drilled a hole when Toyota manufactured the upper pan related to the oil pathway in the pan (ie going from the sump up to the timing chain cover and oil pump) and then had to plug the hole. The plug is not meant to be removed, definitely not used to drain your oil. If you haven't messed with it (IMHO) might be better to leave it alone.

Okay, cool. Because I was thinking it might come in handy for when I hit that 3k mile oil change interval, have to pull over and drain the oil right there and then, and if I'm on a steep hill - that really comes in handy! 😂

FWIW- That plug is 99.9% likely to NOT be the source of any leak. It's more likely to be the oil pump o-ring, or the o-ring between the timing cover and the block. Leave it alone!
I’m searching for the cause of a persistent engine tick. I just wanted to go around and make sure everything is torqued to spec
