You can buy an insert for the reciver hitch that you can bolt a pintle hook on. You can even buy pintle hooks with a 2" ball built in as the lower jaw.
 
Without a reciever hitch you can usually bolt the pintle hook right to the 4 bolt pattern on the vehicle. There seems to be an international standard on the bolt holes on pintle hook backing plates

There are only two bolts holding the plug under there. Unbolt those, then undo the quick release wire plug (and tape up the other end to prevent dirt from getting in there) and store the whole thing in a bag somewhere. Then, when you want to hook it up and tow, simply remove the tape on the quick release wire plug under the truck, bolt on the tow plug, plug the two harness ends together, and viola!

Great idea! I do recall the quick release connector when I was installing the hitch. I'll go crawl back under the truck do this simple mod.

Hmrrr.. about some pics of the ARB :cool:
