newer engine for '69 JD 110

I have an old John Deere 110 patio tractor that my dad gave us when we bought our home a few years back. It ran for about three mowings and then never again. I've swapped carbs, points and the plug.

Does anyone know of any newer engines that may fit in place of the old Kohler? I would like to go bigger too. I really like the tractor.

Short of cracked block or major damage, I'd figure out what was wrong with the one you have.

That old kohler is better than anything you can buy today.

As far as a direct bolt in replacement, I do not thinkl you are going to find one, unless you bolt in a new Kohler. I think they have discontinued several of the "K" series engines.
