Hey all,

New to the 80 series, not new to Toyotas. My dear wife killed my 02 4R at 165k about a month ago and I needed a new rig to ease the pain.

I ended up scoring a triple locked 97 with just over 200k last week. It’s not without minor imperfections, but overall very well maintained.

I’m really excited to get to work on restoring what doesn’t function on the rig, and even more excited to be a part of this community. It seems there is nothing left uncovered in this forum.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to the 80s world.

That avatar picture is in use already you might want to pick something else. 😜

Clean looking 80 you scored.

And yes everything that can be done or talked about on has been but that’s a good thing.
Every answer to every question about you 80 is here. 😎

Now get your wallet ready!!

Thanks for the heads up on the avatar. I was astounded that the UN hasn't been used already.

Doing my best not to even look at mods. If I focus on maintenance and making sure all components are functional first, hopefully the desire to mod the hell out this will fade. Luckily, I have very purist friends who will shame me if I do anything to sway much from being period correct.

Well, you're starting with the best color combination! Keep your wife-unit away from this one, and focus on baseline maintenance to get it up to your level of quality and go from there. With 200k on it, you'll still have plenty of time for mods later,

Got classic insurance on this one and wife’s not even on the policy! LOL

👍.....Interesting. They denied me for "agreed value" policy.
