Ahhh I hate those old people buicks

Well I sold the old girl and picked up a 96 FZJ80(just to get me through the winter until I sold my house and found a 100) but what a difference, I thought my 93 ran well and with the gears it should have been quicker but this new one is downright fast and rides like my old LS400 and is getting 16.5 mpg, and that’s average with a mix of driving. All that with 175K on it. I might just have to keep this one as a dd and maybe be happy for a while until the buy and sell bug hits me again. That was the reason I had her up for sale originally, wanted a quicker and better mpg rig b.c I never wheeled this one and hadn't planned on such a large build originally. I thought a 4runner would do the trick guess I just needed the right 80.

And here she is, 1996 FZJ80 Medium Red Pearl. So far I have just painted the center caps and added a CDL switch. Some PM on the diffs and grease the birfs. She runs like a top.

No real plans right now, I picked it up to get me through the winter as a dd, it doesn't have lockers but runs great. I'll probably sell her this spring and get a clean low mileage LX450 to build or jump to a 100 series to build a little. I'm really like 95% on road / DD. Which my last one was way over built for. Impreza thanks for the CDL switch. That is a cute little MG.

Thanks!

I appreciate the rig and your cooperation helping me buy it. I just took it to Canada and back with a stop at the Iron Range offroad park in Minnesota. What a blast! I'd never wheeled before and the truck did awesome. I'm glad you found a good deal!

Lockers? Yes or no. I'm wondering since you bought a CDL switch lol. Regardless, looks good! Your old green 80 was a beast.

just banged mine up on a rock last wheeling trip. ill be running it without a bumper for a while too.

John, I'm very glad the rig is working out for you and it looks like you had a blast with it. Not gonna lie that pic makes me super jealous. Oh and if you haven't yet, you will want to re-torque the wheel spacers.
Brent - No it doesn't have lockers, I just like the CDL anytime i'm offroad or in the winter around here b.c I don't like the ABS and I like the extra traction without heating up the VC.

Uh Oh time to start pullin out the quotes...

"hold On to your butts"

" they gonna put that on the tour!!"
