New Weber carb won't start

How old was the gas last time it was run - burning shellac is fouling. Old plug wires not delivering full spark. Mouse nest in air cleaner making it run air starved.

It's been running but I switched out the carb because the one are there was really having issues and everyone I talked to said it was undersized for this engine. After replacing the plugs yesterday and installing the regulator it runs great, I know I'll need to do some minor tuning and charliemeyey007 sent me the full specs on teh carb so I'm going to toy with it later this week, I appreciate all the help I get on this site, I wouldn't have it running without you guys so thanks!!!
