Hi Jim,
Are they still wiseco? What are the specks? Still higher compression and so on. Standard or oversized.

Thanks for you efforts

Any one making connecting rods to match???

Hi Jim.

I would like to make the purchase of that set of forged pistons if you still have them please.

Thank you

Sorry, I didn't see this posting sooner.
Pistons & rings are still in stock.

Conn rods are available used from many sources. Best to use the 79-newer rods with die-forge marks on the beam. They are pretty much unbreakable. For best results, balance every set of rods. Toyota just grabbed rods out of a 55gal bucket for these engines, so none of the mold #s or weights match.

Thanks for the tip and update. In a taquila stooper I told the shop that’s building my engine to order JE pistons and Carrillo rods. Should have them by the end of the month.
Thinking of posting a build thread.
Thanks again

The carillo rods are an easy choice, since F rods are shared with tall deck BBC V8. But, the aftermarket units are usually larger around the big end, necessitating clearancing cam & oilpan rail, and possibly bore & skirt.

This is the style of rod we're talking about:

Lot of aluminum required to make up for the strength of steel, eh? More work for very little gain. Indeed, an argument can be made that these tractor motors like the reciprocating weight for torque, such as the heavier flywheel. Going lighter is for higher rpm motors that a person wants to launch from a stop, drag racing. Thanks for the information and picture Jim.

Hello, Jim

Do you still have these piston sets available? I’ve got a 12/78 FJ40 with a cal spec 2F that I’m pulling for a rebuild in the coming weeks.

Eric
Yes, in stock, ready to ship. Still at last year's $989 price, delivered in the USA.

Are these pistons still available?

@FJ40Jim i went to your website to find the pistons and cannot find them, what am I missing?

There's still one set of pistons & rings left from this year's batch. Still at the $989 price.

To order, send me an email directly to my Mud name at gmail dot com, then I will ping you back with a PP invoice to get your shipping address & payment.

Thanks!
