Picked up a 5th as the spare on ebay, a few scratches but at $200 shipped. Yes please.

Nice score. If anyone is wanting to sell a single, i'm looking. Found 4 and would like a matching 5th.

[edit] condition not super important bc they'll likely get pc'ed a different color.

Other than eBay, Craigslist or FB marketplace any ideas where to look for a used set of 4-5 wheels?
Thx

Don’t know where you are but posted a lead on your WTB thread. Guy I bought my 5th from had an extra.

Has anyone painted the very outer edge with black paint with success?

Mounted mine on the stock size michelin defeders (until lift and bigger tires)

The outer edge black paint has rubbed off with a few tire changes over the years and I'd like to fix that..

I will go with 285/70 or even 295/70 down the road, hopefully beefier tires will cover the edge better..

My ocd is getting the better of me in the meantime.. I'll try to upload a pic tomorrow!

To clarify the rim face is perfect, this is just the thin (horizontal) part where it meets the rubber

Black sharpie works fine. I used to care but mine are getting nicked up from trail work so I just consider it a badge of honor.

I take my 2006 100 series offroad quite a bit and after a few years had a bunch of scratches, gouges, and rash. Mine are matte black. I painted just the rash areas and tried a satin black and a matte spray and brother matched very well. Better than the aluminum showing through.

Maybe someone has a better paint match suggestion?

They are just terrible. You should get rid of the trash. I'd love to buy your trash bbs pro forged rims.... Joking not joking. Been searching for 2 sets....

Haha my OCD is getting the better of me I'm fully aware... here's what I'm talking about. I'll try the black sharpie and see how it turns out.
You can't really tell unless your looking for it. I'm tempted to go 295's for a little more tire bulge..

Birchwood Casey makes a very good product for alloys that may work very well for you, ask any of you gun owning friends.

Haha I'm that gun owning friend and know exactly what your talking about.. Can't believe I hadn't thought of that!

Excellent recommendation.

You're lucky, they won't ship it here to Cali, however where there is a will they say there is a way.

Protip: For items and chemicals that places won’t ship to CA, try eBay…. I may or may not do this often for this very reason

ok this is really dumb. Last summer I was looking to order black lugs to match my new to me wheels. Parts guy found they were on national back order. He suggested I go on eBay and buy takeoffs, lots of dealers that install aftermarket wheels on new cars simply just toss them. So we cross referenced some part numbers and I picked up a complete set off eBay.
Finally got around to installing them today. I went to tighten them down and was surprised they were 21mm instead of the 22mm like the OEM chrome lugs. Whatever, I get to tightening all four wheels and I get to the last one and my socket won’t fit, it’s literally a 22mm. I am so confused, the shank, thread pitch, cone size, everything else is identical. But this one lug is 22mm? So weird. I decided to switch back to the chromies until I can get this sorted out, I don’t want to be on the side of the road and fumbling for two lug sockets.

Ugh.. that's frustrating..

I ordered the OEM HE black lugs for I think 50 or 60 bucks.. how long ago were they showing on back order?

Edit: just saw last summer.. they were in stock when I ordered a few weeks ago.. I know that dosent help in the moment

I have an opinion question for you guys

I'm thinking of putting these wheels on my LX570 because I want to go 18"
How do you think they will look with Michelin Defenders? My wife thinks if I don't go with an AT tire I should get silver oem syle Wheels instead LOL
Defenders will probably fit my near term use case better, mostly hwy, gravel and fire roads right now.
