Hey all,

I've just added to the cruiser count at my house by purchasing a 1981 troopy out of Albuquerque, NM. It was on eBay and for sale here, and I ended up getting it at a good price. I am ordering a OME Dakkar 2.5 inch lift and will be putting 33s on it as soon as it arrives here.

An interesting note is that is was an hj47, but now has a 2f motor...I don't know how you would classify that..fj47? Anyway, enjoy some pics.

Congrats!

I've seen it in person and that new paint job really does the troopy justice. I wouldn't have known it was converted were it not for the data tag that said HJ-47, the diesel badge on the grill, and the fact that they didn't make FJ-47s (to my knowledge at least).

Are you going to pick it up in person, or have it shipped? If in person, you'll see some really interesting cruisers.

Interesting question, you usually see fj45, bj45, and hj47 for troopies. Anyone know what the difference is between the 45 and 47?

I wish I was going to pick it up in person, but I am having it shipped...There is a guy who lives near me...John Bailey (I think) who runs global classic imports. I went and looked at the cruisers he had for sale about 2 weeks and was very impressed.

Nice! Let me know if you have any questions about the lift.

Bull, where did you get your lift for your troopy? I have contacted several places, but am not getting any of the responses I would like.

45 vs 47

HJ45 had the H series engine

HJ47 had the 2H series engine

That is the primary--and only significant--difference of which I am aware.

Odd, I thought those digits were reserved for body designations. Seems like they should have called it a 2HJ45 instead. Thanks for the info.
